The Bowen Technique (Bowtech) is an holistic therapy using gentle and very precise movements to stimulate and re-align muscles depending on the presenting problem. Each set of movements is separated by a pause for optimum effect on the muscle.
Helen is one of a worldwide group of just 100 instructors on the international register of teachers authorised by the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA).
This seven-module training course is aimed primarily at complementary therapists and healthcare professionals. It is also open to those who may be looking for a lifestyle change or part-time career opportunity and is suitable for men and women.
A recognised qualification in anatomy and physiology is a pre-requisite or can be studied alongside the Bowtech modules. Each module takes two days including assessment and the course is designed over a period of 9 – 10 months. This allows time for practice in between modules in order to prepare the required case studies, practical and written assignments.
It may be helpful to experience a Bowen treatment for yourself before signing up for the course, or attending Helen’s one-day introductory workshop Introduction to Bowen Technique to gain some insight.
