London training venue proves a hit for Helen

SINCE 2024 Helen has offered Bowen Technique training at a popular North London venue called Jacksons Lane, a dynamic arts and cultural centre based in a former methodist chapel.

In addition to a varied theatre programme of live events, the centre offers six studio/workshop spaces hosting a variety of fitness classes and courses, including beginners’ Bowen Technique training and CPD.

“I was so fortunate to discover this gem while searching for a suitable venue in the capital, to meet demand from potential students who understandably wanted somewhere within easy reach that would enable them to return home each day,” said Helen.

“The atmosphere in the centre combined with the support of staff and other creatives is infectious, and I really look forward to my classes here.” Students include professional therapists wishing to learn a new modality, newbies considering a career change and qualified Bowen therapists keen to refresh their learning or progress to a more advanced level.

Jacksons Lane is a flagship community hub in Haringey, loved and supported by residents across North London. Helen has welcomed a diverse range of students from around the world who praise her ‘intuitive and supportive’ teaching style. Among them is Sharmila Hume, founder of the Holistic Hub in North London, who described it as the ‘best learning experience’ of her career.

“Helen is a supportive instructor taking every student’s ability and circumstances into account. In comparison to a previous Bowen instructor, where I left part-way through the course, she is well organised, providing excellent resources and her expertise is second to none,” she said.

“From the start Helen put us all at ease regardless of existing experience in the health and wellness space; it was because of her empathy and skill that we bonded so well as a group.”

An instructor since 2013, Helen runs a thriving practice in Cambridgeshire where she also runs training courses, in Peterborough. “I feel privileged to be able to inspire the next generation of Bowen Technique therapists especially as people seek ways of improving their health in a more holistic way,” she said. “It is so rewarding to see them grow in confidence once they qualify and go on to fulfil their personal goals.” More information can be found here under the What’s On section.
