World Reflexology Week (September 22nd – 28th) seems the ideal time to remind ourselves of this complementary therapy, and in particular the benefits of Reflex Resonance Technique™
This unique concept takes reflexology to an advanced level by combining classical movements with sound, balance and healing. Intuition is critical, reliant on the skill and sensitive fingers of the therapist to interpret the feel and vibration of each reflex point, incorporating the appropriate sound as necessary to enhance the effect.
The Reflex Resonance Technique (RRT) was developed by Helen, an award-winning complementary therapist, and refined over decades of clinical practice. Her interest in the power of intuition and the healing benefits of sound was inspired in part by the age-old beliefs of the Aborigine people of Australia, where she lived and worked for many years.
The sound is carried by vibration directly to that part of the body in need of healing, a unique experience which can bring emotional, physical and spiritual benefits to the client. In chronic cases where there has been little or no change to an existing problem, use of sound can often bring about resolution with long lasting results and success.
For the reflexologist, RRT is an opportunity to further develop their skills. In this way they can add real value to their treatment offering, helping to attract new clients and so grow their business.
As well as offering RRT to her own clients, Helen subsequently developed a training course for experienced reflexologists to share the benefits more widely. This two-part post-graduate course is accredited by several professional bodies including the Federation of Holistic Therapists and Association of Reflexologists.
To mark World Reflexology Week, Helen would love to hear from AoR groups to arrange either a talk and demonstration, or to run a two-day training course. Bookings for 2026 made before the end of September will be eligible for a discount on her usual fee based on minimum number of attendees.
